A strong upper level storm system in combination with easterly upslope winds allowed some locations in southern Colorado to receive heavy snow and gusty winds from the evening of November 21st to the morning of November 22nd. Locations hardest hit with the heaviest snow included El Paso and Teller counties. In El Paso county, Green Mountain Falls observed 18 inches of snow while Monument received up to 16 inches of snow. Briargate in northern Colorado Springs observed 13 inches...Manitou Springs measured 12 inches of snow...Skyway in western Colorado Springs noted 11 inches...the Colorado Springs airport picked up 10.6 inches of snow and the Broadmoor in southwest Colorado Springs was covered with 9 inches of snow. Ramah in northern El Paso county reported 8.5 inches of snow. In Teller county, Woodland Park was graced by 10 inches of snow with Divide reporting 8 inches of snow. Elsewhere across the region...Cuchara in Huerfano county was graced with 7 inches of snow while Wolf Creek Pass, South Fork and Aguilar all received 5 inches of snow.
