The Peach County 911 Center reported numerous trees and power lines blown down in the Fort Valley area, including West Church Street, Knoxville Street, North jones Street and White Street.

A series of fast moving short waves swept over the region in the persistent westerly upper-level flow on the north side of a large ridge of high pressure centered over the Gulf of Mexico. With ample moisture and a stalled frontal boundary over the state, numerous thunderstorms produced isolated wind damage late in the evening of the 22nd and in the morning of the 23rd.
