The weather front from a large storm in the Bering Sea moved north over western Alaska and brought east to southeast winds of 26 knots (30 mph) to 39 knots (45 mph) near Deering on the night of the 18th. This created a combination of locally high sea level and ocean waves which flooded the road between the village of Deering and the Deering airport during the night of the 18th. Damage amounts are unknown but expected to be minimal.
