Strong winds blew down a tree onto power lines along Highway 306 north of Arapahoe.

Wider weather episode

Scattered thunderstorms developed across eastern North Carolina during the evening of July 27th 2016 as the sea breeze moved inland into very unstable air. A couple of the storms became severe producing damaging winds.
