The Winslow ASOS recorded a peak wind gust of 65 MPH at 223 PM. Wind gust of over 58 MPH were observed between 200 and 400 PM.
Wider weather episode
A cut off low off the Baja Coast brought relativity warm and moisture air over Arizona on December 15 and 16. This brought areas of heavy rain along the Mogollon Rim the moisture was lifted. A strong cold front then moved across the state on the 17th with strong winds.
