Event narrative
On November 1, the U.S. Drought Monitor reduced the Bristol County designation to Moderate Drought (D1) and continued that through the end of the month.
Wider weather episode
Rainfall was below normal for all of Rhode Island during November, with amounts ranging from near an inch below normal along the south coast to near two inches below normal in the far north and west.
A Drought Advisory continued statewide in Rhode Island during the month of November. The advisory encouraged voluntary water conservation and adherence to any local water restrictions.
November average streamflows and groundwater levels showed some improvement, except in the southern and eastern regions where they were below normal. Reservoir levels were reported normal for Newport and above normal for Providence Water.
