Event narrative

Several CoCoRaHS observers reported a dusting, generally a half inch or less, of snow in the Bogart, Bishop and Watkinsville areas.

During the afternoon of January 6th through the morning of January 7th a fast moving but strong storm system swept across the southeastern U.S. A cold airmass across north and central Georgia combined with rich moisture drawn north from the Gulf of Mexico to produce a mixture of rain, sleet, freezing rain and snow across north and portions of central Georgia.
