Significant rainfall across Middle Tennessee during late November 2016 into December 2016 begin to improve drought conditions throughout the region. Severe (D2) drought conditions across most of Middle Tennessee and extreme (D3) drought conditions in Cumberland County at the beginning of the month improved to moderate (D1) drought or less by the end of the month. Frequent rainfall led to significantly improved conditions for agriculture and area lakes and rivers.
