An Ice Storm hit parts of Northeast, East Central and Southeast Missouri on Martin Luther King Weekend. The areas hardest hit were across Washington, Jefferson and the northern half of St. Francois County. Numerous power outages were reported with almost the entire town of DeSoto, MO being without power for several hours. There were also transportation issues, however they were minimized due to almost all schools and businesses closing on Friday, the first day of the event.
