Drought — Stephens, Georgia
2017-02-01 to 2017-02-28 · Stephens, Georgia
Wider weather episode
After a couple of relatively wet months, the longer term trend of dry weather resumed in February, with most areas reporting monthly rainfall of 1 to 2 inches below normal. Nevertheless, the improvement brought about by the late 2016/early 2017 rainfall continued through the month, with drought conditions becoming increasingly confined to the mountains and immediate foothills. Levels remained well below normal on all streams while reservoirs were several feet below target elevations. All communities continued to observe at least voluntary water restrictions, while mandatory restrictions continued in a few mountain and foothills communities.
