A weak upper level disturbance moving out of Mexico, to the south of an upper level low over northwest Texas, combined with an unstable air mass and the sea breeze boundary during the afternoon to produce scattered severe thunderstorms over the Coastal Bend into the Victoria Crossroads. The thunderstorms produced hail generally from quarter to golf ball size and wind gusts to around 60 mph.
