Event narrative

Trained spotters, amateur radio, CoCoRaHS, and the public reported 6 to 6.5 inches of snowfall.

Wider weather episode

A low pressure developed along a frontal boundary along the southeast coast on the evening of Saturday, February 17, 2018. This low gradually became better organized as it moved up the coast towards the 40N/70W benchmark early Sunday, February 18, 2018. This system brought heavy snow to southwest Connecticut and light to moderate snowfall across central and eastern Connecticut. Warmer temperatures across the southeastern portion of the state limited snowfall accumulation.
