Event narrative

From nine to twelve inches of snow fell on Western Essex County. At 1:50 AM EST on March 8, multiple trees and wires were down on Second Street and Green Street in Amesbury. Also a tree and wires were down on Lakeshore Drive in Georgetown. At 2:20 AM EST, a tree was down on a car along Elm Street in Amesbury, and a second tree was down on wires farther along the same street. At 2:42 AM EST, a tree was down along Interstate Route 495 southbound at Exit 48 in Haverhill; two lanes were blocked.

Wider weather episode

A coastal storm moved up from the Carolinas, bringing snow and rain to Southern New England on March 7th and 8th. This was primarily a snow event, but with 1 to 3 inches of rain falling on Southeast Massachusetts.
