A stationary frontal boundary extending across south-central Illinois provided the focus for thunderstorm development during the afternoon and evening of May 15th. One supercell formed in Christian County and produced an EF-0 tornado east of Palmer. A second supercell developed further east in Moultrie County, then tracked eastward to the Indiana border producing sporadic wind damage and hail as large as golf balls.
