Severe(D2) drought continued through the month across the entire zone. No precipitation was recorded at Hillsboro which normally gets 0.37 inches in April.

Wider weather episode

April brought little to no rain across southern New Mexico which kept parts of Hidalgo, Grant, Sierra and Otero counties in Severe(D2) drought.
