Multiple trees were knocked down onto power lines along U.S. Highway 2.
Wider weather episode
A cold front moved across the area. Rich, low-level moisture was in place ahead of the front and numerous strong to severe storms developed. Storm motion was west to east parallel to the front and resulted in heavy rain. Storms earlier in the day saturated the soil and contributed to flash flooding.
