Event narrative
On 12/5, the Hamilton EM reported extensive river flooding along the Alapaha and Little Alapaha rivers. In the Fox Hollow neighborhood, 4 homes were cut off from road access due to river flooding. Another 10-15 homes are expected to be cut off from access in the next 24 hrs in the 34th Loop Anderson's subdivision. Shelters were opened at the Field House and Old High School. On 12/6, the EM reported SW 86h Blvd and NW 79th Drive were closed due to flooding over roadways. On 12/11, water levels crested in the rivers. On 12/13 road closures continued in the county which included: SW 86th Blvd, NW 79th Drive, NW 23rd Blvd and County Road 143; from the intersection of NW 24th Ave and NW 45th Street all through the Florida Camp sites; NW 34th Street and Withlacoochee Walk Camp sites; NE 80th Blvd was closed from County Road 6 east toward NE 36th Drive; SW 74th Way (Suuwannee River Camp Sites). All boat ramps in the county were closed due to flooding.
