Event narrative

Eight and a half inches of snow was reported 1 mile northeast of Weber City.

Wider weather episode

A strong low pressure system moved eastward across the Gulf Coast on its way through the Carolinas. Deep moisture was lifted in the colder resident air mass across the Southern Appalachian region.
