Wider weather episode
A storm system moved slowly east across northern New Mexico on April 13, 2019 and delivered scattered showers and thunderstorms with high terrain snow. Temperatures were cold enough with this system to support snowfall over the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and parts of northeastern New Mexico. Two to five inches of snow fell from near Angel Fire to Las Vegas and Capulin. The heaviest snowfall impacted locations above 9,000 feet west of Las Vegas where up to 18 inches was reported. Impacts were limited with this event as temperatures were too warm to support hazardous travel in most areas.
