Event narrative

Flooding from a slow moving line of thunderstorms closed several roads around Ville Platte. Water also approached a few residences in Ville Platte and flooded one garage.

Wider weather episode

An unstable air mass moved into South Louisiana ahead of an upper level disturbance that was moving out of Texas. A weak line of storms moved into Southeast Texas then into Louisiana and strengthened. This produced flooding and a few reports of damage.
