Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms developed in the vicinity of a warm front draped across northern Illinois during the afternoon of May 27th. The storms produced numerous funnel clouds and two brief tornado touchdowns. Further south, an isolated cell dropped golf ball sized hail in Clark County.
