Wider weather episode

A thunderstorm become severe as it moved into the Bighorn Mountains. A tornado touched down near Powder River Pass and moved eastward, initially very close to US 16 and continuing through the mountains in Johnson County. Numerous trees were uprooted and snapped along its path. In addition, several snow fences were torn apart and thrown in all directions. Peak winds were estimated at 110 mph, making the tornado an EF-1.
