Thunderstorm winds blew down a utility pole about two miles south-southwest of Red Sulphur Springs.

An approaching cold front brought a squall line across southeast West Virginia during the afternoon and evening hours. Severe thunderstorms within this line combined with high winds aloft to produce damaging winds that blew down a tree and a utility pole in Monroe County.
