A storm system brought strong wind and snow to the Front Range mountains. Moderate to heavy snow in the mountains, mainly north of I-70, ranged from 6 to 12 inches. The snowfall was heaviest in northern Grand and western Larimer counties and included: 12 inches near Longs Peak, 11 inches near Cameron Pass, 8.5 inches, 9 miles south-southeast of Spicer; 7 inches near Berthoud Falls and Green Mountain Reservoir.
In addition to the mountain snow, strong bora winds swept across the foothills and northeast plains. In the mountains and foothills, peak wind gusts included: 82 mph, 3 miles southwest of Rocky Flats; 79 mph near Carter Lake, 78 mph at Buckeye and near White Ranch Open Space; 75 mph near Copper Mountain, Genesee and Georgetown. Across the northeast plains of Colorado, peak gusts included: 70 mph at Brush, 69 mph near Sterling, 67 mph north of Pawnee Pass, 66 mph at Nunn and 11 miles northwest of Westplains; 63 mph at Briggsdale, Firestone and 8 miles south of Holyoke; 62 mph at Akron, 60 mph at Eaton, and 58 mph at Fort Morgan. The wind broke power poles and caused tree damage in Brush.
