Event narrative

Observer in Harrison measured an initial 1.8 inches of snowfall for the 26th observation followed by an additional 4.5 inches for the 27th observation giving a storm total of 6.3 inches of snow.

Wider weather episode

Persistent moderate to heavy snowbands moved across the Nebraska Panhandle starting late in the day on the 25th through early afternoon on the 26th producing fairly widespread snowfall over 6 inches in the southern half. Several totals of over a foot of snow were reported from Kimball north to Scottsbluff. Some localized topographic effects with the snowbands helped contribute to a just above six inches of snowfall in Northern Sioux County zone near Harrison.
