High wind gust of 68 mph measured at mesonet station delmt 15.2 SW Dupuyer (mcscn).

A Canadian cold front moves southward. The associated northerly wind shift and cold air mass behind the front cause temperatures to drop significantly. Rain, then snow and freezing precipitation/fog expected, along with icy surfaces and reduced visibility. This event forecast as widespread with the greatest impacts felt through central and north central Montana. In general, 1 to 2 inches of snow accumulation forecast in the lower elevations from Lewis and Clark and Meagher Counties and south. North of that line, lower elevation snow accumulation forecast to range from 2 to 8 inches with the higher snow totals occurring in Fergus and Chouteau Counties and north. Higher elevation snow accumulations range from 6 to 12 inches. This front continues to cause wintery weather through Sunday as it passes from north to south and then eastward out of our area.
