Event narrative

Flooding covered a portion of Lakeshore Drive at 5th Avenue Beach in Manistee. In Parkdale Township, the beach eroded up to the foundation of several homes, and a number of trees were washed into the lake.

Wider weather episode

Northwest to north winds produced high waves and elevated water levels along the northwest lower Michigan coastline. With Great Lakes water levels at near-record levels, significant coastal flooding and beach erosion resulted.
