A spotter east of Cusino Lake measured 15 inches of snow in less than 24 hours. Schools were closed in northern Schoolcraft County on the 2nd in the aftermath of the snowstorm.

Wider weather episode

A storm system tracking from the Central Plains through Lower Michigan dumped heavy snow across much of the Upper Michigan on the 1st.
