Event narrative

There were multiple reports of trees and power lines down across the western part of Randolph county.

Wider weather episode

WSW flow aloft prevailed as two shortwaves moved through the elongated, positively tilted longwave trough. At the surface, a mostly stationary frontal boundary strengthened. At the same time, increasing southerly low-level flow resulted in greater warm air advection south of the frontal boundary. There were scattered reports of wind damage and hail across the tri-state area. Rainfall amounts of 3 to 6 inches during the day across southwest Georgia also resulted in areal flooding with several roads impacted.
