A trained spotter reported a 66 mph wind gust in Orient at 1245 pm, and a 68 mph wind gust at 404 pm. At 250 pm, a National Weather Service employee reported large tree limbs down near Indian Island Golf course in Riverhead. On the grounds of Brookhaven National laboratory in Upton, law enforcement reported a large pine tree down obstructing passage on Brookhaven Avenue at 3 pm. At 6 pm, a mesonet station in Orient measured a 45 mph sustained wind.
