Wider weather episode

Scattered pulse thunderstorms developed quickly midday well ahead of an approaching weak shortwave lifting in from northeast Ohio. The environment was unstable while shear was weak due to subdued wind speeds aloft. A few of the storms showed very strong lightning jumps on satellite imagery. Heavy rain was also a concern with rates that exceeded one to two inches per hour in strongest storms.
