One tree was reported down on River Road.

Wider weather episode

Weak disturbance aloft moved through central North Carolina during the evening and early overnight, within a regime of moderate CAPE and very weak deep layer shear with a mean baggy trough situated to the west of central North Carolina. A line of showers and thunderstorms developed in the lee of the mountains and moved into and though central North Carolina during the evening and early overnight hours. The line filled in as it moved through the area and produced some isolated wind damage over portions of the Piedmont and Sandhills.
