Lorain Harbor C-MAN Station recorded a peak wind gust of 51 mph from a thunderstorm.

A surface low moved northeastward across James Bay during the early afternoon through early evening of the 19th. Simultaneously, the trailing cold front swept southeastward from northern Lower Michigan and central Illinois to Lake Huron, far-northwest Ohio, and west-central Indiana. Ahead of the front, scattered thunderstorms with strong to severe wind gusts affected Lake Erie along and near the lakeshore. The warm sector over Lake Erie exhibited moderate to strong instability, moderate DCAPE, and moderate vertical wind shear.
