A shoreline mesonet station in Vermilion recorded a 46 mph peak wind gust from a thunderstorm.

As a surface low moved eastward across northwestern Quebec, the trailing cold front advanced southeastward across Lake Huron, southeastern Lower Michigan, and northern Indiana during the early afternoon through early evening of the 27th. Ahead of the front, isolated to scattered thunderstorms affected the western-half of Lake Erie and vicinity. Some of these storms produced strong wind gusts along the Ohio shoreline. These storms occurred in a moderately-unstable warm sector that exhibited moderate DCAPE and vertical wind shear, respectively.
