Event narrative

Thunderstorm winds blew down two large highway signs along U.S. Highway 61 near interchange with Highway 47. Also, about 3 miles east northeast of Troy, large tree limbs were blown down and part of a tin roof of a east-west facing gable barn was torn off. In Foley, several large trees were uprooted.

Wider weather episode

A very strong cold front moved south through the region. A line of strong to severe storms developed ahead of the cold front. Some of the storms produced widespread wind damage.
