A severe thunderstorm producing winds estimated near 60 mph knocked down trees near James City.

Lines of storms formed along a frontal boundary that was draped from the lower Great Lakes eastward across southern New York State during the afternoon of August 27, 2020. These lines of storms produced numerous wind damage reports as they progressed southeastward into a moderately unstable environment over central Pennsylvania.
