Event narrative

Significant snow fell from along the north slopes of the Brooks Range from the Dalton Highway eastward. The University of Alaska Toolik Field Camp SNOTEL reported 13 inches of snow in less than 24 hours and the Alaska DOT reported very poor driving conditions along the Dalton Highway.

Wider weather episode

Low pressure moving east across the Beaufort Sea pushed a weather front across the North Slope and Northeast Brooks Range. This resulted in significant upslope snowfall along the northeast Brooks Range.
