Event narrative

A section of roof was lifted off and dropped into the yard. The wind blew down sections of treated wood fencing, and snapped two posts. A pine tree was snapped across the street.

Wider weather episode

A strong cold front swept through Eastern NC late Christmas Eve. Periods of showers and thunderstorms accompanied the cold front, with several storms becoming severe. Strong southerly wind gusts of 60 to 70 mph and minor coastal flooding accompanied the front as well.
