A low pressure system crossed through the Great Lakes on the evening of the 21st, pushing a cold front through the state overnight. Much colder air that entered in behind the front resulted in precipitation transitioning over to snow along the mountains of West Virginia. Snowfall totals ranged from a few tenths of an inch in Nicholas and Randolph Counties while up to seven inches in Northwest Pocahontas County.
