The Valentine ASOS recorded a peak wind gust of 68 mph at 145 pm CST. Across eastern Cherry County, strong west wind of 30 to 45 mph with gusts near 70 mph turned northwest during the passage of a strong cold front.

Wider weather episode

A strong cold front moved through western and north central Nebraska during the afternoon and evening hours on March 29th. Strong northwest winds of 30 to 45 mph with gusts as high as 68 mph were recorded. Some blowing dust was also observed which reduced visibility briefly.
