The public reported quarter to half dollar size hail near the intersection of Highway 9 and Hopewell Road.

A mid-level short wave, and an associated surface low and cold, front swept through the region. A moderately unstable airmass ahead of this system helped to fuel scattered severe thunderstorms across north Georgia during the afternoon and into the evening.
