A heat burst occurred along the coast and affected communities from Holly Beach to Creole. A wind gust of 70 mph was recorded at Cameron. Trees and power poles were reported down.

Wider weather episode

A warm front lifted north across the region during the 23rd spawning showers and storms. A drier air mass moved in during the 24th setting up the conditions for a heat burst.
