Evening storms across northeast Illinois congealed as they moved over Lake Michigan and strengthened as the storms moved inland. Two dominant areas of convection were noted, one which progressed from NW Indiana into south central portions of the forecast area, and another which tracked southeast across south central Lower Michigan and into NW Ohio. Some of these storms produced damaging wind and heavy rain.
