Several trees were downed between New Baltimore and Coxsackie.

Strong to severe thunderstorms developed along a stalled frontal boundary during the afternoon hours of Wednesday, July 7th, 2021. Several reports of downed trees and wires resulted from the severe storms. A microburst was confirmed in Columbia and Greene Counties where an estimated 70 to 90 mph winds caused significant damage in the towns of Coxsackie and Stuyvesant. A state of emergency was declared in the town of Coxsackie as a result of the damage.
A second round of severe thunderstorms moved into eastern New York during the late evening of the 7th into the early morning of the 8th with a few reports of downed trees.
Additionally, heat indices across the mid-Hudson Valley and southern Taconics exceeded 95 degrees during the afternoon.
