Event narrative
Severe thunderstorm outflow winds downed a few trees in Cushing, one of which blocked traffic on River Road. A nearby observation recorded a wind gust of 51 mph.
Wider weather episode
A line of thunderstorms formed just ahead of a cold front that moved toward the Midcoast of Maine during the afternoon hours on the 14th. The line of storms stayed sub-severe except for one isolated storm that was strong enough to knock down a few trees.
