Event narrative

To start October, ongoing drought conditions in all of Northern Valley County were at (D3-Extreme) drought conditions. These conditions remained the same for the rest of the month.

Wider weather episode

A winter storm moved through the area on October 12th - 13th. The southeastern zones received a good amount of rain and snowfall to help drought conditions, however the rest of the area only got a little precipitation. So despite this welcome storm, the extreme drought continues over northeast Montana.
