A strong area of low pressure moved from the Great Lakes to across Quebec during the afternoon of December 6th through the early morning hours of December 7th. Brisk south-southwest winds ahead of this passage occurred during the afternoon of December 6th with stronger west-southwest winds associated with cold air after a cold frontal passage during the evening of the 6th and early morning hours of the 7th.
Wind gusts in excess of 40-45 mph led to isolated to scattered power outages, especially in the St. Lawrence Valley and northern Adirondacks.
