Event narrative

A report on social media around 1500L on 10/24 stated a Tree was downed on admiral hill, acting like a two way stop for cars sharing one lane to pass through. In addition around 1500L on 10/24, over 4,000 customers just in West Seattle were reported to be out of power. Most of West Queen Anne in Seattle proper was also without power around 1500L. Large trees were also reported down on Aurora Ave on 115th between Aurora and the hospital, along with multiple traffic lights out along the road, along with a complete power outage at NW hospital.

Wider weather episode

An active weather pattern set up in October, bringing multiple rounds of wind and precipitation to both the lowlands and mountains of western Washington. A particularly stronger system in late October was responsible for stronger winds, heavier precipitation, and high surf. A High Wind Warning was in effect for the Coast, Western Strait of Juan de Fuca, and the Northern Interior locations, with a Wind Advisory for much of the Puget Sound vicinity and Eastern Strait of Juan de Fuca.
