Multiple trees down along 5 to 10 roads in the region due to thunderstorm winds.
Wider weather episode
Showers with damaging winds developed in advance of a potent cold front. A strengthening low level jet combined with minimal instability helped generate these damaging winds caused localized tree damage across portions of Wythe, Giles, and Smyth counties.
