Rain changed over to snow early on February 2nd, with periods of moderate to heavy snow continuing through the late evening hours of February 3rd. There was a report of 17.0 inches of total snow accumulation at Leiters Ford, with 12 to 17 inches common across the county. There were slide-offs and accidents across the area, with school and several businesses closed due to the heavy snow and blowing snow.
